Kamala Harris Buys $8.2 Million Seaside Mansion After Warning ‘Sea Levels Are Rising’ Due to ‘Climate Crisis’
Washington Free Beacon | 1/15/26 | Eliana JohnsonKamala Harris warned in 2023 that to “live in a coastal community is to live on the front lines of the climate crisis.” The failed presidential candidate is reporting for duty: She and her husband, Doug Emhoff, purchased an $8 million oceanside mansion in Malibu.
The purchase, our Thomas Catenacci writes, “calls into question Harris’s earnestness when discussing the threats posed by what she calls the ‘climate crisis.’” During her short-lived presidential campaign, Harris warned that “sea levels are rising” because humans are “poisoning the planet.” In the Senate, she cosponsored the Living Shorelines Act, which called to earmark $50 million annually for combating rising sea levels because they threaten “thousands of coastal communities and economies.” And the Biden-Harris administration released a climate model that says the beach that’s a short walk from Harris’s new pad will be significantly damaged by sea level rise.
Harris doesn’t appear to be bothered by those risks. Her new home is “perched in a prime coastal location” with “breathtaking ocean views,” according to a real estate listing we reviewed. It also features some of the luxuries—like a gas-powered stove and fireplace—that the Biden-Harris administration targeted with burdensome regulations.

And with a full week of festivities planned for the week leading up to the game, the NFL announced today the appointment of one YouTube creator as the league’s “Chief Kindness Officer” and “Creator of the Week.”
That prestigious role goes to Dhar Mann, a YouTuber with nearly 27 million subscribers who’s known for his scripted content. …
In his role as Chief Kindness Officer, which is a totally real and not at all made up title, Mann will be responsible for leading “a series of digital, social, and on-the-ground activations designed to activate kindness and sportsmanship across fans and players throughout Super Bowl events.”
One of his initiatives will be a “Be Kind To Your Rival” campaign, for which the NFL will donate $1 to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital for every post using their hashtag that says something nice about a rival team or fanbase…up to $100,000. (I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that Mann and all these creators are probably going to be making more than $100,000 off of this week, whether they’re being paid by the NFL or not).

Over a billion years ago, a lake in modern-day Ontario evaporated. During the evaporation, some of the resulting brine was captured within halite crystals along with air bubbles—precise records of our early atmosphere’s makeup. Extracting accurate readings from these fluid inclusions, which have both air and brine (salt water), is difficult, however—some gases, including oxygen and carbon dioxide, act differently based on whether they exist in water or air. As such, it’s been challenging to precisely measure the gases in their original state.
The team solved the problem using a method previously developed by Park, uncovering that around 1.4 billion years ago, during the Mesoproterozoic era (1.6 to 1.0 billion years ago), Earth’s atmosphere contained ten times more carbon dioxide than today.…the Mesoproterozoic climate was more mild than researchers theorized.
The atmosphere also had 3.7% of today’s oxygen levels.
