The U.S. responds with airstrikes against Iranian forces in Syria and Iraq.
Iran directs an attack on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.
The U.S. takes out the planners of the Iranian operations.
Now President Trump and Iran’s Ali Khamenei are going on Twitter measuring peckers. This probably won’t end well. It will end worse for Iran, which perhaps they’ll realize. And, if they don’t, they’ll get their wish of becoming martyrs.
So, with all that, what’s the top news story this Monday morning? The Golden Globes. Well, not the Golden Globes themselves. Nobody knows nor cares who won what. But the opening monologue by Ricky Gervais did garner some attention after he insulted everybody in Hollywood. It was glorious.
Now I feel like I want to thumb my nose at, well, just about everybody. Let’s all report back tonight and share our experiences.
The only thing I can think of that I hate more than comic book movies are Hollywood award shows. I suspect, someday, they’ll have an award show to give out awards (a small gold statue of a frowning figure called, oh let’s say, the Sniveler) for the best award show….”And now, for the moment we’ve all been waiting for, for the most pretentious, whiny, complaining, phony award show of the year, the Sniveler goes to…” Well, take your pick, ’cause they’re all a colossal waste of time and effort and really…they all deserve the Sniveler.
So Gervais is starting his retirement? Great announcement party for that.
