Things sure have changed a lot in my lifetime. Either I’ve lived too long, or things are changing that shouldn’t be changing. I’m thinking the latter. I’m hoping the latter.
Specifically, I’m thinking of the words you shouldn’t say in public. George Carlin adapted that into his “Seven Words You Can’t Say On Television” routine. He modified the routine over the years, but it was generally the same basic premise: you can’t, or shouldn’t, say these words in public (NSFW link).
Of course, we consider IMAO a PG-13 Website, in that we want you to be able to read it aloud to your kids (or grandkids) or your parents (or grandparents) and not hesitate or self-censor. We want to be mostly family friendly. We think a lot of the family, and want to show it the respect it deserves. Having said that, I’m about to self-censor.
