If you want to argue with someone in the south, and have some serious, could wind up on the news type of arguments, take contrary stands on college football, or on how to do barbecue.
Do you have something you’d like to share? A link? A joke? Some words of wisdom? A topic to discuss? It’s our nightly Open Thread, and you have the floor.

Words of wisdom: Never jay-walk, you just might clog up someones radiator. ~ Soupy Sales
Another way is to tell someone from Kentucky it’s a Pennsylvania long rifle.
I have been watching a lot of the History Guy videos recently. However I cannot comment, like, or subscribe because I never got a YouTube account. It’s a shame because I’d “like” almost all his videos.
The last time I was able to comment or like was before that was a thing.
I don’t miss it.
Regarding barbecue, I made my second brisket ever, during the 4th of July weekend. It was a small brisket comparatively speaking. Not the normal 75-800 pounder usually seen in stores.
It still took 12 hours in the smoker but it was time well spent. I was worried it wouldn’t match up to the stuff found in bbq joints but this time was different. It was actually really good. My first was a disaster.
I suppose this was actually my third brisket. However the one before this, the “second brisket that never was” had to be thrown out due to a long power outage. It went bad in the freezer when we had to evacuate for a hurricane.
