I don’t always post serious things. Laughs and cute chicks are my turn ons but I saw this video and had to share with you all. It is worth a watch all the way through and explains, perhaps, much of what we are witnessing in the world today. Please feel free to comment below.
Thanks. At one point, he mentioned that (paraphrasing) True Believers™ share the same vocabulary but not the same dictionary. I think this is a significant problem in a lot of areas of life. The least harmful effect is that “outsiders” will misunderstand the “insiders” because the insiders don’t bother to define their terms. I think this is often a deliberate power move so that disagreement with the insiders can be dismissed as coming from people too stupid and therefore unqualified to have a valid opinion. When he talked about discovering that he suddenly “didn’t know” what socialism was when he didn’t believe in it anymore, that’s what I mean.
The current lunacy about defining reality on your own terms without any objective reference is all part of this.
