Watch the weekly address: We have to do everything we can to help more Americans get ahead in the new economy. http://ofa.bo/s2Zd
“Although if the new economy were worth squat, I suppose folks wouldn’t need help, would they? Let me go rethink this message…”

Although, technically, everything they can would be absolutely nothing in a sane world.
“… since we’ve been so successful in helping ISIS get ahead — or two.”

so…the “new economy” is this one where government decides how much money you can have, how much work you have to do, and how many people your effort has to support, right? How exactly does one measure “getting ahead” in such an economy?
The new economy is 2.5% yearly growth, with 2.0% from government spending and only .5% actual private sector growth. You know, just like Europe.
@3 blarg: And in two sentences, you just summarized what the Republican candidate’s rebuttal to whatever the Democratic presidential candidate’s opening speech is. Keep it nice and short. I can imagine Reagan saying this.
