In Germany personal income is taxed progressively. In 2008 is tax rate from 0 % to 45 % (in 2007 was tax rate from 0 % to 42 %). The so-called solidarity surcharge at a rate of 5.5 % of income tax has to be paid on top of this. Hmmmmm 45 + 5.5 =…..50.5%
But that’s just for “rich” people, if you make $58,750 you only have to pay 42 + 5.5 =47.5%
If you make $8650 (like many college graduates here) you only have to pay 15 + 5.5 = 20.5%
Thank GODDDDD college is FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE because you’re gonna need all that extra money you don’t have to use to pay for it to pay for it….until you die.
Translation for people who can think: Even if you don’t go to college in Germany, you’ll be paying for someone else to….for the rest of your life.
