Nope, that was me.
My guess is that the car’s computer just equated crowds of journalists with empty space. I would call it a simple mistake but when two things are so similar it is hard to label it a mistake.
Seems to me that people standing in front of self driving cars are perfect candidates for the coveted Darwin Award.
