Wednesday Night Open Thread

I like a lot of music by people that I really don’t agree with politically. Of course, I am way to the right of many, many people. Possibly even you.

Yep, definitely to the right of you. So, if I can ignore the singer’s politics, I can enjoy the songs. But every so often, they go heavy handed with the politics. Like Don Henley’s “The End of the Innocence.” Remember that song? Well, today’s an interesting day regarding that song, as I mentioned over at my little blog.

Anyway, apart from that, I’m curious what you have to say, whether it’s about politics, music, silly stuff, or whatever. It’s Wednesday Night Open Thread, and your turn to take control.

Who wants to start?

  1. Yeah. I have pretty much stopped going to movies and buying music due to Hollywierd’s ridiculous behavior. Either I am a grumpy boring conservative, or super cheap.
What do you mean those are not mutually exclusive?

  2. John Mayer’s Waitin’ on the World to Change causes life-threatening variations in my blood pressure every time he whines about how “the man” owns all of the information outlets, so what can you do? Just wait for the world to change, man – and woman, and transgender, and gender fluid, and whatever – because poor little marginalized we just can’t get our narrative heard. And when you trust your television . . . What you get is what you got . . . Cause when they own the information, oh . . . They can bend it all they want . . . Because G-d knows all we hear on the telly, 24-7, is how great capitalism is, and how misguided socialists are, and how immature, intolerant, and cruel young people are, and how public employee unions are Satan’s handiwork, and how taxes really should be lower, especially to stimulate big business, so that jobs may be created, and how uncontrolled border invasion is burdening our economy, degrading our culture and increasing crime, and how regulations, minimum wage laws, and welfare programs are counter-productive, increasing poverty, dependence, and misery – just relentless right-wing propaganda, all the d@mn time. Poor out-shouted babies.

  3. It’s Dubya’s birthday! George W. Bush is seventy-one today. Happy birthday to a good and decent man, who behaved admirably in the face of all the mud-slinging that occurred during his term!
