THE PRESIDENT: Hello, Philly! Have a seat if you have one. (Applause.)
… There ain’t nothing like a joke that you have used every way from Sunday. As Willie Brown said.
You know, I always kid Donald when — (inaudible). (Applause.) You know, Delaware is small, so we have to fight for every inch of territory. So, there was a debate on whether or not — whether Delaware — the state of Delaware owned the Delaware River along the Delaware shore up to the highwater mark in New Jersey.
And they said, “No.” We went to the Supreme Court, and it got something right. They said, yeah, we do. Anyway. (Laughter.) I always kid them all the time.
Folks, look, before I begin . . .
WTF?
I got tired of trickle-down economics. I’ve never been a big fan. If the wealthy do very well — I’m a capitalist. I like the wealthy to be able to be wealthy. But if they — the mere fact they do well doesn’t mean that everybody else does well.
WTF?
I watched my dad growing up. There was not a whole lot of benefit trickled down on his kitchen table as a consequence of trickle-down economics to what everyone from the Financial Times to the Wall Street Journal has become my change — my — a different philosophy. They — I don’t — I don’t think they started off trying to be complimentary, but they started calling it “Bidenomics.”
And our plan is working — Bidenomics. And here — (applause).
WTF?
Remember the story? In order for inflation to come down, you got to cut wages for hardworking folks, you got to have unemployment up in order for inflation to come down.
A lie. This was never claimed.
Well, guess what? I never bought that. I don’t think the problem in America is that too many people are working or that people are making too much money.
Certainly not in your America.
The fact is companies made record-high profits during the pandemic.
Pharmeceutical companies that you invested in. That’s the problem.
Job satisfaction in America is at a 36-year high. We got more work to do, but people are coming off the sidelines to work.
Among cynics.
And, speaking of cynics: . . . .
But we also have solutions. A lot of my friends in organized labor know:When I think climate, I think jobs. I think union jobs. Not a joke. (Applause.) Not a joke.
And I might add, notwithstanding what the other guy said, windmills do not cause cancer. (Laughter.)

California Democrats Move To Strengthen Sentencing for Trafficking Minors Just the News | July 13, 2023 | Kenneth Schrupp
Progressive Democrats, including Assembly Majority Leader Isaac Bryan (D-Los Angeles) opposed the bill on grounds that it would increase incarceration, which they believe does little to deter crime.
“Longer sentences…increase our investment in systems of harm and subjugation at the expense of the investments that the communities need to not have this problem to begin with,” Bryan, who abstained from the July 13 vote after voting no on July 12, said.

It was all FAKE! Carlee Russell reveals she made up kidnapping and seeing a toddler on side of Alabama interstate after over a week of lies: Cops weigh up criminal charges for wasting police time Daily Mail | 7/24/2023
A 26-year-old nursing student in Alabama who claimed she was abducted after spotting a toddler along the interstate admitted on Monday she made up the entire story.
Carlee Russell claimed that she was kidnapped on July 13 after she stopped to check on a toddler at 9:30pm. She turned up at her parents’ house 49 hours later and told police she had been abducted, spinning an elaborate story of fighting for freedom.
Yet on Monday, Hoover police chief Nick Derzis read a statement from Russell’s lawyer in which she admitted she had invented the story.
‘There was no kidnapping on Thursday, July 13,’ he said.

Nationwide Crackdown on Illegal Robocalls, Telemarketing Scams Begins NY Post | 07/18/2023 | Reuters
US regulators on Tuesday announced a nationwide crackdown to stop companies from inundating people with billions of unwanted and illegal robocalls and telemarketing calls.
The crackdown, known as Operation Stop Scam Calls, involves the Federal Trade Commission and 101 other federal and state law enforcement authorities, including the attorneys general of all 50 states and Washington, DC.
More than 180 enforcement actions and initiatives are part of the initiative, including five that the FTC formally announced on Tuesday.
“We don’t know too many people out there who enjoy getting scam calls,” Samuel Levine, director of the FTC consumer protection bureau, told reporters. “A single unwanted call is one too many.”
I also see this as creating a Telephone Security Administration which will harass little old grandmothers in wheelchairs just trying to visit with their grandchildren.
American Woman Detained And Charged In Dubai For Screaming In Public, Faces Jail Time Blavity | 7/17/2023 | Kui Mwai
Screaming in public may be common in the U.S., but it’s a much different story in Dubai. Unfortunately, Tierra Young Allen learned that the hard way. After attempting to retrieve personal items left in a rental car, the San Diego native was detained and charged with “screaming in public.” She’s been stuck in the United Arab Emirates for two months, and her family is terrified about her future.
According to Fox 26, Allen was in a friend’s rental car when they got into an accident in Dubai. Allen’s mother, Tina Baxter, said her daughter went to the rental car company to get her ID, credit card and other items left in the rental after the accident. That’s when things escalated.
“She found out she could only receive those items if she paid an undisclosed amount of money. She dealt with a very aggressive individual a young man there who was screaming at her,” she told Fox 26, adding that led her 29-year-old daughter to raise her voice.
Authorities in Dubai have taken Allen’s passport and placed her under a travel ban while investigating the incident.
Baxter said the situation is “frightening,” and as time goes on, Allen is beginning to realize the severity of her situation.
“The longer she’s been there the more reality has started to kick in,” she told Fox 26.

Allen has an attorney in Dubai, who has notified her she may be sentenced to jail time thanks to a video of the incident.
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen Dined on Psychedelic Mushrooms in China: Report NY Post | 7/19/23 | Mary Kay Linge
Magic mushrooms may have been to blame for Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s mortifying bow before a Chinese official last week.
Yellen, 76, gobbled four portions of jian shou qing, a type of wild mushroom, when she dropped in at a casual Beijing restaurant soon after she arrived there on July 6, Chinese state media reported in an effusive story that took care to praise the secretary’s chopstick skills.
Did they also praise Hunter’s rolled-up-hundred-dollar-bill sniffing skills?
James Comer: Bidens Owned over 20 Shell Companies to Hide Payments, Launder Money Breitbart | 17 Jul 2023 | WENDELL HUSEBØ
The Biden family opened more than 20 shell companies to hide payments and launder money, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) said Sunday.
After reviewing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) at the Treasury and subpoenaing banks and individuals, Comer posted on Twitter that the Biden family created more than 20 entities to accept, forward, and collect payment from a wide range of business associates.
“We found all these shell companies that make absolutely no sense,” Comer told Fox News. “I don’t believe they have paid a penny of revenue, a penny of taxes on most of the millions of dollars they received from our adversaries around the world.”
In March, the committee revealed the Biden family business over the course of several years received over $10 million from business schemes in Romania and China in return for what appears to be influence peddling.
For instance, SARs obtained by the committee revealed a Biden associate, Rob Walker, received a $3 million wire transfer from CEFC China Energy Co. In turn, four Biden family members — Hunter, James, Hallie, and an unidentified “Biden” — received a collective $1.3 million cut from the $3 million wire transfer.
Breitbart News reported the Biden family business received a total of $5.1 million within days of Hunter Biden’s messages to CEFC through multiple accounts, including Owasco and Hudson West III LLC.
“How did they list this on their taxes?” Comer questioned. “Is it a service they provided?”
Moving forward, Comer’s committee is set to begin deposing Biden family business associates in the coming weeks and months. Comer said in early July that Devon Archer, one of Hunter Biden’s top associates, will be the first member deposed to unravel the family’s international business schemes.
I’ll Make Sure Those 17 Recordings of Joe and Hunter Are Released: Republican Steve Scalise Vows To ‘Press’ To Make Burisma Exec’s Phone Calls Public – and Says Americans Are Furious the Bidens Have Gotten Away With ‘Web of Corruption’ UK Daily Mail| 06/13/2023 | Kelly Laco
Top Republican Steve Scalise is vowing to uncover all information related to the Biden family’s ‘web of corruption,’ including alleged phone recordings linking Joe and Hunter to a $5 million bribe from a Ukranian energy company executive.
Scalise told DailyMail.com Tuesday on the sidelines of practice for the annual Congressional Baseball Game this week that the American people are beginning to see the ‘whole Biden family web of corruption’ that’s been laid out by the House Oversight Committee led by Chairman James Comer, R-Ky.
Republican Senator Chuck Grassley revealed on Monday that the Burisma Holdings Limited executive who allegedly paid then-Vice President Joe Biden the $5 million bribe has kept 17 audio recordings of phone calls as an ‘insurance policy.’
He claims they were kept as an ‘insurance policy’ in case the foreign national was in a ‘tight spot.’
Remarks by Vice President Harris in Roundtable Discussion on the Americans with Disabilities Act
July 11, 2023 | Indian Treaty Room, Eisenhower Executive Office Building
THE VICE PRESIDENT: Thank you, Secretary Buttigieg. (Applause.) Thank you. Appreciate it. Thank you.
As we have blind and low-vision folks here today, I will describe what I am wearing. I’m wearing a lavender-color suit and a flag pin, and seated here with all of the colleagues and friends at a U-shaped table.
? ?
And thank you again for — for accepting the invitation to have this important discussion, and as I said before the press came in, for my benefit, mostly so I can hear from you and understand and get feedback from you about the status of where we are in terms of the movement and where we have yet to go. So I want to thank you all for that.
And then, of course, one of the most recent issues that has been a topic of discussion around our country among many people: the issue of AI. So, let’s think about that in terms of algorithms that are being written and employed for a variety of decisions that are being made, including employment decisions, and how ingrained bias — because it still exists in our society — about folks with disabilities can and may be integrated into those algorithms, in terms of making decisions in a way that could discriminate against people with disabilities.
Sorry — what was she talking about? I drifted off just after she did. I’m sitting at a chair-shaped unit wearing a grey t-shirt.
Teacher’s Eight-Word Retaliation After Being Sacked for Calling in Sick for 20 Years https://www.express.co.uk | Thu, Jun 29, 2023 | Hanisha Sethi, Ryan Fahey
“Sorry, but right now I’m at the beach.”
Cinzio Paolina de Lio taught philosophy and literature at a secondary school near Venice.
A philosophy and literature teacher at a school in Italy who only turned up for four lessons in her 24 years on the job has explained her situation to journalists in a swift, eight-word rebuke – while she was out enjoying herself on a beach.
Cinzio Paolina de Lio is said to have avoided working by using holiday leave, conference allowance, and sick leave to get away with [not] teaching for a whopping two decades.
When journalists from the Italian newspaper, Repubblica, demanded answers, she brazenly replied: “Sorry, but right now I’m at the beach.”
Students claim their former teacher would often ask to borrow text book.
??
Ms. De Lio said she planned to “reconstruct the truth of the facts of this absolutely unique and surreal story.”
I have to admit, I’d watch the movie.
She said: “I don’t answer questions from journalists thrown around that wouldn’t do justice to the truth of my story.”
Students at her school say their former teacher would just sit around and text during exams and not even have the textbook she was teaching from, and often ask to borrow one.
Despite her claiming to have three degrees, it is reported she did not show up for lessons, and would often dish out grades rather than marking work properly.
She was dismissed from her job in 2017, which then turned into a legal battle that went all the way up to Italy’s supreme court.
De Lio tried to defend herself by behind a “freedom of teaching,” which the court rejected, arguing it was teachers who had a responsibility to make sure students’ right to study was protected.
The Italian Supreme Court blasted her as “permanently and absolutely unsuitable” for the job of a teacher.
She was also branded the “worst employee in Italy” by her secondary school near Venice.
Barack Obama has reportedly asked her to mentor him.

Vietnam Bans ‘Barbie’ Movie Over South China Sea Map CNN ^ | 7/3/2023
Vietnam has banned Warner Bros.’ highly anticipated …
????????????????????????????????????????
… film “Barbie” from domestic distribution over a scene featuring a map that shows China’s unilaterally claimed territory in the South China Sea, state media reported on Monday. (Warner Bros, like CNN, is a unit of Warner Bros. Discovery.)
The U-shaped “nine-dash line” is used on Chinese maps to illustrate its claims over vast areas of the South China Sea, including swathes of what Vietnam considers its continental shelf, where it has awarded oil concessions.
“Barbie” is the latest movie to be banned in Vietnam for depicting China’s controversial nine-dash line, which was repudiated in an international arbitration ruling by a court in The Hague in 2016. China refuses to recognize the ruling.
I hope the movie “Barbie” will also recognize my claim to control vast swaths of Poland, Czechoslovakia, Austria, the Rhineland, and Russia.

‘This is cringier than most Biden talks’: Kamala Harris is ruthlessly mocked for latest ‘word salad’ as she gets tongue twisted trying to explain ‘culture’ Daily Mail | 7/07/23 | Alex Hammer
‘Culture is – it is a reflection of our moment and our time. Right?’ the Democrat said, while engaging in several of her trademark pauses.
She continued: ‘And present culture is the way we express how we’re feeling about the moment, and we should always find times to express how we feel about the moment.
‘That is a reflection of joy. Because, you know,’ she added, before an audible pause
“audible pause”? Et tu, Daily Mail?
and eventually breaking into laughter, ‘it comes in the morning.’
Willie Brown could not be reached for comment.
In another inexplicable comment, she added, ‘We have to find ways to also express the way we feel about the moment in terms of just having language and a connection to how people are experiencing life. And I think about it in that way, too.’
