Friday Night Open Thread: Camera Angles
New camera guidelines for female athletics coverage
BBC News | June 15, 2026 | Jane DougallNew guidelines have been released advising broadcasters on how to use more respectful camera angles when covering live female athletics events.
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has worked with female athletes to develop the guidelines, which aims to avoid sexualising the action with unnecessary camera angles.
I can’t think of any camera angle that would avoid sexualizing a woman.
I can’t think of any liberal I would pay attention to when it comes to judging what is a “respectful” or an “unnecessary” camera angle.

Hot Air | 07/09/2026 | Beege WelbornBy 2050, the estimated total boundary area required for 1.5 million wind turbines is expected to reach 3.1 to 4.6 million square kilometers – the combined size of India and Argentina.
The obvious question regarding this transition—with its towering turbine skeletons, virtually indestructible composite blades, and billions of solar panels—is this: Just where will all this metal, silicon and concrete be buried?
Probably throw in a few battery-powered everythings, as well.

She works together with Bond to infiltrate the party which is being held in the bar, though it turns out to secretly be a trap to capture and kill Bond. Bond ends up in a spotlight and sprayed with nanobots created from Project Heracles, though it ultimately transpires that Obruchev reprogrammed the nanobots to kill members of SPECTRE instead.
