You know what today is, right?
You did say “Washington’s Birthday” didn’t you? You didn’t say … that other thing, did you?
I wrote about it over at my little blog. Of course, I do that every year. It’s how I am.
Anyway, what’s up with you? Got something you’d like to share? It’s Monday Night Open Thread, and you get to talk about whatever you like. You pick the topic.
What’s on your mind?

What is the appropriate way to celebrate Washington’s birthday?
Overthrow a government with a long train of abuses and usurpations…?
Well that or we could cross a freezing river to kill some foreigners in their sleep.
Oh wait, it’s not Christmas. Oh well.
But it is President’s Day so, roll with it.
Cherry trees.
New dentures?
We should have all met at Valley Forge and got drunk.
Tonight’s history lesson (especially for Harvey)……………..

Today is “Presidents Day”….a Federal Holiday. It is NOT George Washington’s birthday. That would be February 22.
Cool, I didn’t miss it, then…
This is gonna be Friday’s Straight Line…
Bacon to you, Dan!
Nope. Nope. Nope. To the “Presidents Day” thing. There is no federal holiday called “Presidents Day.” Only dumbasses think there is. Don’t be a dumbass.
Washington’s birthday (the actual anniversary of the event) is February 22. But the federal holiday is not “Presidents Day.” It’s “Washington’s Birthday.” https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/5/6103
Oh, and on the day George Washington was born in Virginia, it was February 11, 1731. Chew on that.
Only dumbasses insist on calling a day that isn’t Washington’s Birthday, “Washington’s Birthday”.
Washington’s Birthday is a federal holiday. Washington’s birthday is Friday. That’s easy enough to understand, right?
Taking careful note of the capitalization in the two previous comments, I’d say you’re both right. Bacon for everyone!
Except dumbasses who say “washington’s Birthday”.
They get tofu.
What to get George for his birthday?
You know what I’m thinking…
Prez Day. MLK Day. Both observed on MONDAY, making it a 3-day weekend. Also known as a SKI INDUSTRY HOLIDAY. Millions were spent lobbying …
You mean Washington’s Birthday and Birthday of Martin Luther King.
