You can’t watch “It’s a Wonderful Life” these days without thinking how much sense Mr. Potter is making about irresponsible lending.
Today: Wars for oil. Tomorrow: Wars for internet bandwidth.
Watching first season of Babylon 5. The CGI looks like it was done on a Nintendo 64.
I think if Obama nuked the crap out of the oil leak, that would show real leadership.
Nuking stuff has to be worth like an eight point jump in approval ratings. Do it, Obama! Do it!
Despite what TV says, there is only like a 10% chance of waking an unimaginable horror by using nukes underwater.
Nuking the oil leak? Maybe that’s what Spike Lee meant when he said “Go off!”
The soviets nuked their oil spills. Not even kidding. http://trueslant.com/juliaioffe/2010/05/04/nuke-that-slick/

Amiga. I recall the first season looking pretty shoddy in parts. Stuff didn’t so much blow up as a fall apart. Things get better though.
Do you suppose that when people who voted for Obama turn on the news and hear that the only solution might be a small-scale nuke off our own shore to seal the oil leak… they’re back to being confused because they originally thought they were voting for David Palmer on 24?
Obama has pretty much ruled out a nuke. A nuke would be awesome, and there is nothing awesome about Obama.
As far a a nuke waking an unimaginable horror, it already has. Obama married her.
It seems Bill Ayers is involved in the Isreali blow up. If anyone knows about blowing things up, it’s Bill. I doubt the MSM will say much about this.
Random thought: I tried to make Johnny Cakes this morning. It didn’t work! I’m hungry!
“I think if Obama nuked the crap out of the oil leak, that would show real leadership.”
However, nuking a “floatilla” would both show real leadership and be totally awesome!
“You can’t watch “It’s a Wonderful Life” these days”
You’re right, I can’t.
Yesterday there was a caller on Rush who has a degree in Environmental Science. He says the best way to stop the leak is with a low-yield nuclear device.
I wonder if nuking the moon also has environmental scientists behind it…

Great series, I finished watching all 5 seasons a couple of months ago on my DVD set. Yeah, the CGI during the first season looked pretty cheesy. I think Jeff The Baptist is right, the CGI was made on an Amiga. At least it gets better in latter seasons.
Obama is too busy nuking the American Dream to be bothered to nuke anything else right now.
Unimaginable horror, perhaps awakened by an underwater nuke?
The movie has already been made!
Allow me to present: The Beast From 20000 Fathoms!

I watched way, way, too much TV on Saturday afternoons as a kid, and movies like this were a staple of that time period. But there was no internet, no PC’s, heck, no cable TV, and it was hot outside.
We should Super Sapiration nuke the leak. And if one bomb hits a worthless southern city of filth and crime. Oh well.
-Welcome to America the only country in the world and through all history where poor people are fat.
-I think liberals are confused by conservatives I mean when conservatives run saying that if they win control of the beast of the federal government the first thing they will do is weaken it. Liberals say that stuff too but only to get elected they dont really believe it and never planned to.
In their mind that’s like building a weapon and then refusing to use it on everyone. Maybe that’s why they hate nukes and guns they cant believe we really dont want to use them on other people.
-Let God in your heart and he will heal it. Also he will upgrade with a pump master 7000 that will give you the strength or four wimmin.
-For conservatives reality acts as an anchor always abruptly snapping them back if they strayed too far. For liberals reality is seen a speed bump that the right narrative and demagoguery can confuse long enough to let their super magic socialism in the hands of their black god fix before reality can catch up.
-I am not opposed to some redistribution, based on their track record I dont trust big statist governments to do anything but a horrendous corrupt job with recurring genocide.
-The problem is you can not write “independent” without writing dependent, so we need a new word.
-You could describe opening the door to activist government much like pulling the trigger of a gun. Regardless of what you meant for it to do, what it does is no longer up to you.
Think of the constitution as a firing range allowing government to act in certain places in certain directions where allowed. Activist government just goes around shooting what the hell it feels like with no regard for stray bullets.
Interesting then the party that uses cowboy and wild west as curse words thus create this very scenario believing that their guy will be the only one with the gun and bullets will only hit those targets they personally want them too.

“An unimaginable horror?” Like what? A balrog?
ussjc, I think you meant “super saturation.” No one knows what the heck “sapiration” is.
…I’m pretty damn sure that this is how the Japanese lost Tokyo to Godzilla though.
Hey now. The N64 was a good console.

We must do all we can to prevent George Lucas from acquiring the rights to this show. Can you say Babylon 5 Special Edition?
OK, once I get the ‘a href’ tag working, how do I turn it off again?
Does anyone else think that Kagan is really Dick Morris in drag?
