Works like this: I feed you Moon Nukers a straight line, and you hit me with a punch line in the comments.
Of course, if you’re not feeling particularly funny today (and for the 12th straight time, I’m not), sincerity is fine, too.
The best way to thank the troops…
…give them a brand new commander in chief.
The best way to thank the troops…
Is to elect a Commander-in-Chief worthy of serving them in November.
That’s it. No other comments are possible.
Pray for their success and safety.
. . . is to elect a President who supports and respects them. Another way is to pay for their meals whenever you’re present when a serviceman is buying one.
As a service member, when people thank me, I tell them to thank us by excercising the freedom we pay for and defer during our service. Never give up any freedom we’ve paid for in exchange for any comfort the politicians may offer you. Educate yourselves on the facts, not the politican’s lies, and vote so that we truly get the government we deserve!
Rip’s got it.
Hey, America! Obama hates you! Let’s hate him right back!
…cash, jobs, and bacon
…would be to change the rules of engagement to actually allow them to do their jobs.
is to say, “Thank you for your service.” Sincere, respectful, and deliberate thanks.
Though Rip’s submission is a clear runaway.
Oh, and punch a hippe.
Hookers, blow, and booze.
. . . fire their current Commander-in-Chief
. . . avoid mainstream Hollywood movies about the military
. . . send care packages over the holidays
. . . live your life in the freedom they preserve
…….replace the president, chase out the lobbyists, fire carrier politicians who don’t function.
…….hire people who have integrity, who are honest and who love and believe in the Constitution.
…….make sure our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines are led by people who will give them what they need to do their jobs.
Lift the ban on prostitutes, free bacon, inter-gender mud wrestling every Friday, and shoot Jane Fonda out of a cannon.
And I was in the mood to be funny today.
Whatever your feelings for “The Military” remember it is made of volunteers. Every person who serves has a family waiting to hear they have survived the ordeal, don’t add to their burden by expressing your animosity at their loved one.
If you must, send your concerns to congress, or to the branch secretary, or others who are in a decision-making position; soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen deserve nothing but praise, thanks, and bacon.
I wonder if we could get an amendment that all members of the House and Congressional defense committees must have served in the military . . .
ship Obama and all his hippy, hirsute, vegan, Che-loving, watermelon, anti-war Code Pink supporters to Cuba so they can live their dream and the troops are freed from their whining.
Hey Mrs. C, now there is a suggestion right out of Starship Troopers (I refer to the book not the terrible film).
is to custom make all the shooting targets so they look like Barak mooning them.
having family in the military, what they seem to want most is a little gratitude and assurance and some resistance and abhorance toward those who would use them as pawns for their own political gain.
…is to keep a country from within worth fighting for from without.
… is to fight the battle of freedom on the homefront so that they have something worthwhile to come back to.
That wasn’t really a punchline though, so here’s a punchline:
… is to entertain them with video of Obama being thrown out of office in humiliation and January 20th being dubbed “Liberation from Obama Day”.
Mrc C. I like it. Make it a regulation that anyone running for public office has to either serve in the military active or in the guard. They’d have to make it possible for older folks to serve but I know plenty of people who would have enlisted after Sep 11th and done whatever they asked, they just wanted to help.
Have our Senators swap salaries and benefits with them.
is in person, face to face.
…is to take the handcuffs of off of them and let them do their G** Damned JOBS!! Americans have to realize that the military is Atticus Finch shooting the rabid dog..there are some jobs very few of us would do, but we all WANT done, and NEED done for the safety of everyone of us. Atticus Finch would not shoot a mockingbird, he was not a “baby killer”; but he knew when he had to “step up” to protect the innocent.
**Longer than just finishing the line…but it needed to be said especially on this date! !**
Nicely said CTCompromise. Love the reference.
Oh yeah…and Obama is Dill, found hiding somewhere in the cabbage patch who tells incredible, suspicious, stories about his past.
…go back to ‘dont ask dont tell’ policy
@Lactose:
Little known fact: Get a copy of “I Want You: The Evolution of the All-Volunteer Force,” published by RAND Corporation. There’s actually a RAND staff paper in the collection that points to Robert A. Heinlein’s 1959 book “Starship Troopers” as a “must read” for the deep thinkers involved in the project! Heilein’s depiction of the Mobile Infantry recruiting effort was also considered when the Marine Corps’ manpower branch refined its recruiting approach and techniques with J. Walter Thompson, Xerox, and Learning International.
I can’t believe nobody has yet suggested electing a new President/Commander-in-Chief.
/sarc
The best way to thank the troops…is cold beer, lots of bacon and some sacrificial hippies for their punching pleasure.
…and give them a new President/Commander-in-Chief.
@Manolo:
Thanks for the heads up. Never heard of that before. I’ll definitely check that one out.
…no need. Being able to realize a sense of Duty, Honor, and Justice on a daily basis is enough.
.
.
.
but if you MUST…the 3 B’s is good (beer, babes, bacon).
… is to try resuscitating a corpse man.
…is to find a hippy, give ’em a musket to the junk, take a picture, and post it to a MilBlog.
…since Dennis Miller isn’t running for the White House we could appoint him or someone equally appreciative as Secretary of Doing a Helluva Lot More For The Wounded Warriors.
The best way to thank the troops…….live your life like someone who actually deserves Freedom.
Live the real American Dream
and of course get that clown out of the white house
Get their job done done, them home, oslobo gone.
@ 38 springeraz : ~~~~
Maybe not the Best way to thank the troops, but it wouldn’t hurt…
Link their Cost of Living raises to those of members of congress.
If the troops don’t get a raise, neither does congress.
let them all vote.
(Ha, let’s see ya pick a winner out of those and not feel bad about not choosing 20 or 30 others.) Great stuff, and ~~~~~~~ for everyone.
