  1. McRibs suck. I kept hearing about them and finally got to try one. Grease flavored with BBQ sauce, bleech! I was astonished at how bad they really are. Only scarcity and advertising can sell these bad boys. And I am not anti-fast food. I like Big Macs. I love Whoppers! But this thing, OMG.

  2. The problem for me is the sugar. There is sugar in the pork patty. There is sugar in the bread. The sauce is almost pure sugar. Most McDonald’s products have always been too sweet for my taste and now I’m cutting down on carbs. The only things I like at McDonald’s are the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits (shame about the carbs in those biscuits) and their coffee.

  3. I think it’s pretty cool that the teacher who was dogging McDonald’s changed his tune. I’d be interested to know if he actually retracted the anti-McD’s things he tweeted.

Bob R: I understand your concern about the sugar, but McDonald’s tests their products so much with consumers that they somehow came to the conclusion that people wanted it. They probably didn’t say, “How about if we add X grams of sugar.” They just had hundreds or even thousands of people try different versions, and the one that got the best reviews was the one with that mix of ingredients.

My complaint with McD’s has always been that their burgers taste like salt, grease, and ketchup. Not being a big ketchup fan, that’s not a great mix for me, but again, that’s what the public appears to want. My personal tastes aside, I’m happy to down a McDouble or two when I’m getting $1.99 Happy Meals on Tuesday or Wednesday for my kids. Too much ketchup or not, $1.29 for a McDouble is a cheap meal.

  4. every time I see something like this I can’t help but wonder how many posts are just paid product placements.

they totally skipped over the “technology” that turns pork meat into something that tastes like sawdust and mediocre bbq sauce.
