America had it all…powerful top-down government, benevolent dictatorship where a single member of an elite class made wise decisions for millions without having to consult with the people he was ruling over or some stupid congress, and taxation….oh the taxation! It was glorious. A handful of members of the anointed class decided which businesses succeeded, which would be destroyed, and the little people lived off the land, in harmony with nature, after wise overloads left them with just enough for survival. There was no global climate change, no slavery, no opression of the gays, and the Muslims loved everyone, didn’t have to martyr themselves for freedom, and were just goofy fez wearing comic relief.
…And then you went and ruined it with your selfish individual rights and your government by concent. You upset the balance and set the whole world into the crazy mess its in today, and for what? It has taken over 100 years of constant usurping, undermining, and using your own laws against you to finally get you people back under control.
Fortunately, the Progressive elites have finally made some real headway in getting you back under control and letting those who are better suited to making important decisions make decisions for your own good.
You still talk a good game but if you can’t even organize enough people to control the primaries of your representatives, end up electing a bunch of progressives with “R”s after their names instead of “D”s and then call it a “wave” and a “major victory” how do you expect to take it back by force when they keep taking your weapons and your money and you can’t even convince your peers they’re losing their country and more importantly their freedom?
Enjoy your fireworks. If they’re still legal where you live.

I keep thinking of that phrase, “a new birth of freedom.” We definitely have a need for that.
