I’ve seen them all, and when they weren’t funny, they were at least fun, in a Vaudeville sort of way.
This Bob Hope quote from the article kinda sums up my feelings:
“The gags weren’t very funny, I guess, but the audience laughed because Bing and I were having such a good time – and I guess it was clear that we liked each other.”

Notis boni: The quote refers to a 1932 show where Hope emceed a show headlined by Crosby, not the movies.
Come to think of it I had the great pleasure of watching Bob Hope at Reynolds Coliseum in ’87 or ’88; it was just after the stock market “crash;” he joked that his stock broker’s busy signal cost him $50,000.
The movies are a lot of fun, and did a lot of fourth-wall gags that were uncommon or unknown to most audiences. There were some great bits, and a sense of adventure that a lot of adventure movies don’t have anymore.
