A new report shows that President Obama has spent $500 million in taxpayer money on public relations specialists for the government.
It’s a good thing, too. Otherwise we’d run the risk of forgetting who the author of our misery is.

Lowballing.
Doesn’t count contractors, I guess.
Articles I’ve seen recently show the high hundred-billion to trillions set aside to promote, advertise, and perform “outreach” for Obamacare alone.
I can’t find the articles detailing the expenditures written into the law itself, because Google, Bing, and Ask.com somehow refuse to pull them up. But it’s so.
Anyway, while I’m on the subject of the trillions set aside just to *advertise* this monstrosity:

Is IRS sharing confidential taxpayer information with HHS to promote Obamacare?
The Federalist Society / September 26, 2016
“Now we see another ugly consequence of the ACA: the Internal Revenue Service is using confidential information taxpayers provide on tax returns to identify people who chose to pay the Obamacare penalty rather than enroll in an exchange or otherwise buy health insurance. IRS then provides the identities and contact information of these opt-outs to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which uses the information for “marketing outreach” (harassment?) to encourage (pressure?) these people to enroll in the government-mandated healthcare insurance coverage.”

Report Says Obama Adminstration Failed To Follow Health Law
The Associated Press | 9/29/2016
“The nonpartisan investigative agency of Congress says the Obama administration failed to follow the president’s health care law in a $5 billion dispute over compensating insurers for high costs from seriously ill patients.
“The finding by the Government Accountability Office is a setback for the White House and bolsters Republican complaints that administration officials bent the law as problems arose carrying out its complicated provisions.
“The law specified that $5 billion from a $25 billion fee to compensate insurers would go directly to the Treasury. But when fee collections fell short, the administration failed to allocate a share of money to the Treasury.”
“Rampant Fraud” Exposed In Obamacare Exchanges: 100% Of Fictitious Enrollees Obtained Subsidies
Zero Hedge | 13 September 2016
“A recent ‘undercover enrollment’ investigation conducted by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) found that pretty much anyone can sign up for Obamacare and receive taxpayer funded incentives without having to worry about pesky little details like proving citizenship, identity or income-based needs. In fact, the study found that every single one of its 15 fictitious Obamacare applications were actually approved for coverage despite intentional application omissions, fictitious identification and citizenship documentation, etc. Moreover, all of the applications were also approved for federal subsidies which totaled $60,000 per year.
“Per the GAO:
“All but one of our fictitious enrollees maintained subsidized coverage, even though we sent fictitious documents, or no documents, to resolve application inconsistencies.”
That’s the thing, really. I suspect that the real number is probably way bigger than a half billion a year, with various government agencies engaging in various kinds of PR on their own also.
If you have to hire public relations people to make your administration look good you are doing something seriously wrong.
