Thursday Night Open Thread

When you got up this morning, you thought, “Gosh, I’d sure love to hear a song by the Monkees.”

What? You didn’t?

Oh well.

This was from the TV show. The recording of the song that was released on the Headquarters album is actually a much better performance.

Now, it’s your turn. What do you want to talk about? Got something you’d like to share? It’s Thursday Night Open Thread and your turn to shine.

Who wants to start?

  1. I say this with a great amount of sadness but, in order to have an open thead, you kind of have to have people stopping by. Recently, IMAO has become a “stop by every week or so just I can 1-star everything Frank writes”. This site is a sad shadow of what it used to be.

Just about the only thing sadder is “Joel’s Gulch” which is mostly the day to day jounal of a desert hermit pretending to live off-grid while he shamelessly depends on handouts from everybody across the country to get by.

  2. Speaking of “Shameless Depends”, I’ve been watching Thug Notes and stumbled across one for Brahm Stoker’s Dracula. I wanted to show it to my two kids in marching band who’s theme this year is Dracula.

You should really come to tomorrow night’s football game to see the band at halftime, it’s a really good show. Anyway, although I’m sure my kids have seen and heard worse, it still wasn’t appropriate for a dad to show his kids. Even though all the bad words are bleeped.

  3. The Monkees are fine, but I do find the moral relativity in “Shades of Gray” morally offensive.

I don’t care what anyone says, I enjoy hanging out here… bacon for me! (Cool that you can bacon your own comments)
