I’ve dropped a magnet down a copper tube before, which is cool slow-mo fun, but I didn’t know about the braking action of hurling a magnet at a copper disk.

In Britain Christmas was celebrated with a lot of eggnog. and whiskey. and ale. Our forefathers wanted nothing to do with a holiday celebrated with drunken debauchery.
OTOH the last union job I had didn’t get this holiday off either.
I thought that was the only way to celebrate a holiday.
