Saturday Night Open Thread

One of my favorite Beach Boys songs is “Surfin’ U.S.A.” That Brian Wilson could really write some songs, huh?

He can even write songs he didn’t write.

Anyway, what would you like to talk about? It’s Saturday Night Open Thread. That means you control the topic of the conversation.

What’s on your mind?

  1. Dick Clark, Johnny Carson (that is Carson, right?), and Chuck Berry in one clip. That’s cool.

My parents got to see Chuck Berry play some little diver bar with a pickup band shortly before he died. My dad was thrilled about it.

Growing up in the 80s, Chuck Berry means more a lot more to me than the Beach Boys, who I don’t get at all.

  2. William V. Roth, Jr., US senator from Delaware, who gave us the Roth IRA and played a major role in drafting and passing the 1981 tax rate cuts that Ronald Reagan wanted, was born July 22, 1921, in Great Falls, Montana, near Pretty Good Falls and Poor Falls, Montana.
