  1. A wild eyed old woman walked into a crowded bar in downtown Washington, D.C. waiving an un-holstered pistol and yelled out; “I have a 45 caliber Colt 1911, with a seven round magazine, plus one in the chamber. I want to know who’s been sleeping with my husband!?”
A female voice from the back of the room called out; “You Need More Ammo, Mrs. Clinton.”

  2. Back in the 1970s, a literary scholar decided “screw this, I’m gonna write a fantasy series of novels where I use every single literary trope, every literaary cliche, every lterary stereotype I can squeeze in, and I’m going to make it so awesome that they’ll be bestsellers and world-renowned and praised for decades to come.”

And then David Eddings did just that with the Belgariad.

Then he said, “I did it once, I’ll do it again. I’ll do a different series, with a slightly more adult flair, but I’ll still hit all the tropes.” And he did that with the Elenium.

Then his publisher came to him and said “we want to make more money. Give us another series like the Belgariad.” And he said “I’ll go you one better. I’ll just rewrite the Belgariad, change a few things, and give you the very same series all over again, and it’ll sell just as well as the first one.” And thus we got the Malloreon.

But the publisher still wasn’t happy. So they said “can you do that with the Elenium?” And he said “I already started. Greedy publishers constantly recycling the same books under new names is a classic trope, too!” And that gave us the Tamuli.

And while every word of that is true, they’re still great reads decades later.
