Actually, we remove the tracks altogether for stealth mode.
Getting thrown track back on is the biggest pain in the ass we deal with outside of actual combat. (Note, despite 23 years of active service, I was never actually in combat.) It is always exacerbated because track generally only comes off when you are in extremely rough terrain or two feet deep in mud.

Had to make it lighter, so the solar panels are the only armor, and they extend the distance it can travel, on a full 12 hour charge, from 1 mile to 1 mile,250 yards…
This is a Panther, which is going to replace the Leopard. (For some reason, we always pronounced “Leopard” with three syllables when speaking of the tank.) Rheinmetall is a pretty decent German company. We got the 120mm gun for our Abrams from them. (This pictured tank claims a 130mm cannon.)
No matter what weakness this civilian is pointing out (probably its inability to take flight) it is still preferable to anything the Russians come up with.

That’s not something I considered before, but, under the proper atmospheric conditions, it might work.
