Why did they stop?

James Brown lies in state at the Apollo.
Gerald Ford will lie in state pretty much everywhere for the next few days.
Cindy Sheehan lies… well… in the middle of the road?

Peace activist Cindy Sheehan and four other protesters were arrested today for blocking a road near President Bush’s ranch, authorities said, snagging Vice President Dick Cheney’s motorcade in the backup.
Sheehan and the others lay or sat in the road about 20 minutes and didn’t heed requests to move, Texas Department of Public Safety Lt. R.T. King said.
“They weren’t going unless they were arrested,” King told The Associated Press. He said Cheney’s motorcade was among the vehicles delayed by the demonstration.

I guess she needs to change her name to Cindy Speedbump.

  1. And the funniest thing about the actions of those crybabies is that they truly think they’re being martyrs to whatever dime-store ideology they identify with, as though they didn’t expect to get arrested, but cry foul when they are.
This is one of the more illustrated points (among many others) as to why I cannot trust the liberal movement; they are the charlatans of civil disobediance & social awareness. I have more respect for Abby Hoffman and Malcolm X than these pretenders will ever get.

  2. Well said, Mr. ABQ.
What I want to know is, why the hell did it take 20 minutes for them to be arrested?
If it’s me, the conversation goes like this:
Me: Ma’am (you have to be polite…at first) please move from the roadway, or I’ll have to arrest you.
Them: Screw you copper, we ain’t leavin’ until you arrest us
Me: ::Sounds of hippies being arrested:: You have the right yadda yadda yadda.

  3. Fuloydo, tasers are relatively clean. I’d recommend mace and/or pepper spray. Preferably AND. They’re messy, causing runny and puffy eyes, snot flying everywhere, drooling and even nausea. Of course, that’s not much of a change from the drooling insanity that the Shehag exhibits now, but it’s a heck of a lot more fun.

  4. At least with pepper spray, she could claim that her Munchausen’s by Proxy actually made her sick. Unfortunately, that might also qualify her for a government grant, which would mean even more tax dollars dedicated to her insanity. Then again, our tax dollars are wasted when they get arrested. Yep, that pepper spray and ditch are sounding much cheaper.

  5. You have a point there. But just to play devil’s advocate, consider this. Given it’s caustic nature, hippie-spew would most likely eat holes in police uniforms. That leads to more police uniform purchases, which contributes to a strong economy. Yay capitalism!!

  6. What’s the differance between a dead dog and Cindy Sheehan laying in the middle of the road?
The dog has skid marks in front of it!
Please warn me before she does this again…I’ll show up in my redneck special and prove it…it’s lifted enough so I’d harly notice the bump!

  7. In terms of pure Capitalism, tasar reloads are somewhere around $60 each. Hit each Hippie twice and you’re talking several hundred dollars, easy.
I think it evens out….and I do want to protect our law enforcement folk from the dangers of Hippie spew. 🙂

  8. The most dangerous part about coming into contact with hippie spew is the high LSD content, which can penetrate skin and change a person into an instant hippie. One should always wear full chemical suits and respirators certified for both marijuana and patchouli when approaching a hippie.

  9. It took 20 minutes because police officers actually try not to arrest them. They only do it when forced, or so I am led to believe.
There’s a difference between being arrested in the midst of one’s protest and protesting so that one will be arrested. The former is civil disobedience and being oppressed, perhaps, while the latter is sheer dishonesty and opportunism.
As far as I’m concerned, someone who protests by breaking the law in The United States has little of my empathy. There are legal ways to convey one’s point. I’m not fond of people who gleefully break the law.

Well stated, Muslihoon. I think they obscure any points they would make, valid or not, by becoming “professional” protesters & conscientious objectors-for-hire. I don’t believe for one second that the bottom line for people like Cindy Sheehan is anything other than dollar signs and the media limelight.
