3d printing is a form of additive manufacturing. Objects are created by building up layers of material until the object is formed.
What you’re looking for is more of a CNC milling operation. This would be subtractive manufacturing. Layers of material are removed from a workpiece to reveal the desired part from within.
Having worked with both, I would say a CNC machine could make short work of a passable gunshot wound, and thus the workpiece wouldn’t have to remain still for long. In fact, not saying still might produce better results.
Well a .45 sort of does rapid 3-d printing of exit wounds, but I suppose your intention is to avoid the evidence. I’ve never tried, but I’d be willing to bet a 12 gauge she’ll loaded with salt at close enough range would also do the trick.
Those who were never competent in the old ways are always trying to invent something new…
Beavis:
“Heh heh ..heh heh I once got a 3-d pic of my bunghole..heh heh.”

I suppose wire EDM might work as well, but you’d have to thread the wire through a pilot hole in order to avoid a lead-in cut.
If only there was an easier way.
CNC milling? Who would ever think of that?
Where is my head? I’m sitting here staring at a 150W CO2 laser right in front of my desk. It’s got a 3’x4′ passthrough bed and at least a 2.5′ z axis.
It would be light work…
Dang! Your office is lit!
Not at the moment, but give it two weeks.
We do our best to prevent it, but whatever the students do in the parking lot doesn’t always stay in the parking lot…
You mean someone’s going to do donuts in your office?
If by “donuts” you mean “hit some grade of weed that would have put a 1990’s Snoop Dog into the mood for a couple of days of detox” then, yes.
Though, we do have a welding program…soo…the traditional donuts you’re referring to might happen as well.
