  1. 3d printing is a form of additive manufacturing. Objects are created by building up layers of material until the object is formed.

    What you’re looking for is more of a CNC milling operation. This would be subtractive manufacturing. Layers of material are removed from a workpiece to reveal the desired part from within.

    Having worked with both, I would say a CNC machine could make short work of a passable gunshot wound, and thus the workpiece wouldn’t have to remain still for long. In fact, not saying still might produce better results.

  2. Well a .45 sort of does rapid 3-d printing of exit wounds, but I suppose your intention is to avoid the evidence. I’ve never tried, but I’d be willing to bet a 12 gauge she’ll loaded with salt at close enough range would also do the trick.
