My answer: Harry Reid. Did anyone say that?
Obama was in a Spiderman comic when he was first elected. So there ya go. (I’m not going to post that answer there; I don’t like people injecting politics into my entertainment venues, so I’m not gonna troll theirs.)
Here’s the cover image.
I think “the Tick” and his sidekick arthur
For those of you not familiar with the National Lampoon I’d say Verman was a pretty disgusting name and character. However if you don’t want to count the Lampoon as a legit comic book then I would submit Mr. Mxyzptlk for your consideration.
Can’t see the results from over here. Meanwhile, I’d like to nominate “Bucky”. When Captain America was replaced by a federal agent (story arc circa late 1980s), he got a sidekick called Bucky, which referenced Cap’s original sidekick. Problem: the new Bucky was black, and in some areas of the south, “Bucky” is a racial epithet. Result: Several members of the Marvel Comics editorial staff committed seppuku, and the sidekick was renamed Battlestar.
Thounds good to me.
I hear the word “offensive” combined with “comic book characters” and I can’t help but think about Ace and Gary, the Ambiguously Gay Duo.
Does anyone else have that problem?
