New IMAO Podcast for Monday

This week will be the 60th anniversary of the first use of the atom bomb in warfare and the IMAO Bloggers embrace the coolness of do-it-yourself superweapons in the August 1, 2005 IMAO Podcast
In this week’s IMAO Podcast:

  • Frank J. holds the world hostage with a nuclear weapon unless every human being subscribes to the IMAO Podcast before Sarah comes back from the hair salon
  • Spacemonkey channels Slim Pickens for a ride on a nuke
  • RightWingDuck answers listener questions on WMDs
  • Sarah reviews “Constantine” on DVD and discusses the difference between atomic and “noo-klee-uhr” weapons
  • Harvey does Fun Facts about Georgia
  • Laurence Simon gives the Ant and the Grasshopper an atomic twist

The Fake Kevin makes an appearance in this podcast so it’s probably going to be a collector’s item someday.

It’s safe for work and is on the list to be categorized as a miracle by the Catholic Church.
[YOUR NAME]”
For your acquaintances and co-workers that were desperately hoping to be able to say “President Dennis Kucinich” on November 3rd of last year, you should still send them the link but with this text:
“Hello [HIPPIE],
I have been wrong all this time and have been converted to your way of thinking after hearing this podcast speaking truth to power! Listen to it on the QT and make sure the Bushitler military-industrial machine doesn’t catch you!

The listen to the very end to hear the totally true X-rated jokes about Haliburton and Karl Rove!
[EITHER YOUR NAME OR A FAKE NAME]”

  1. I think this podcast is beginning to gel. I’m still not sure exactly why I like some podcasts over others, but I definitely like it better when you have an overall topic and pound it into the ground like you’ve been doing lately.
I don’t think the roundtable needs to come back unless it is fundamentally changed. Too much of the roundtable stuff was focused on the audience that has been reading IMAO for years. Not exactly friendly for new listeners.

  2. You are not required to have an Apple iPod to listen to the IMAO Podcast.
The IMAO Podcast is a standard MP3 digital audio file that plays on any computer (Windows, Mac, or Linux) with sound capability and speakers.
The IMAO Podcast will play on any portable media device, not just Apple iPods. Here are just a few of the portable media players that are well under $100 and the IMAO Podcast is guaranteed to play on:
Creative Labs’ NOMAD MuVo TX 128MB
    $64-$69 and fits in your pocket (1.40″ x 2.90″)
RaveMP’s AMP128 $79-$99 (with armband; great for working out at the gym)
    RCA’s Lyra 1028 $89-$99 (has a 20 hr battery life)
RCA’s Lyra 1021 $49 or less (smaller battery and storage capacity)
Samsung YP-MT6V $89-$99 (42 hr battery and fits on a key chain)

  3. I have a suggestion for a future podcast- IMAO podcasters go to the gunrange. Who’s the best shot? Who shoots like a little girl? What’s everyone’s weapon of choice? And does faith in god improve one’s aim? In other words, is Harvey’s aim better or worse than everyone else’s?

  4. Excellent PodCast, SarahK and guys!
SarahK’s and Frank J’s review of “Constantine” was a hoot!!! You do a most seriously heinous Keanu, Frank!
Even Ducky and SpaceMonkey has their moments. Harvey’s “Fun Facts” get better every week. Can’t wait for Hawaii!
FurBees are not the preferred method for delivery of World Wide Threats, Frank, but it was still funny!
    Four out of Five Stars!
    Jack.

  5. persnickety:
“All I know is about The Pod is that, if I want to become assimilated, I’ll have to fork out a bunch of money”
    they start at $99.
“for something that breaks a lot,”
    false.
“and has buttons too small to see.”
    only if you’re blind.
    “Shan’t.”
    your problem.
don’t bash that which you know nothing of.
as for the podcast, it rocked as usual. bring back the round table.

  6. Truly excellent show yet again, although I finally have to gripe about the introduction. The theme music is excellent, but the spoken part drags out waaay too much.
    You know, ‘Edgy…uncompromising… comedy…from…I…M…A…O… Podcast…dot…com…with…Frank…J’.
Maybe go with a sort of game show announcer voice or something. I listen to the podcasts in morning traffic, and fast forwarding through the thing is annoying.

  7. saraK,
We all know you’re the best shot. That’s not even in question 🙂 I was referring to which podcaster couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn? I mean wouldn’t it be a blow to Rightwingduck’s macho latino pride if he couldn’t shoot worth a crap? And how bout the hayseed, spacemonkey? Aren’t all southerners supposed to be great shots?

  8. Congrats on making the top ten list on Podcast Alley! Well deserved too.
I can’t say what segment I enjoyed the most, but definitely the any of the ones with Dubya, Fun Facts (Delaware, with the chained up pit-bull was insanely funny), and the Iraq vacation trip.
    Keep it up.
    Len
