Help Frank Not Get Murdered by SarahK

SarahK had been trying to locate a Wii to buy me as a Christmas present and we were avoiding those expensive bundles they sold online, but yesterday I was really dumb and ordered a bundle from Toys R’ Us online with five games and some $40 starter pack I probably don’t want (at least the whole thing was $50 cheaper than listed now when I ordered). By the time I realized how stupid and bad I was, it was too late to cancel the order. Anyone know my option on unloading the games I don’t want since Toys R’ Us isn’t being cooperative. Like, can I return them without a receipt unopened to Wal-Mart for at least store credit so we can buy the food my reckless spending has denied us?
Stupid dumb bad Frank! The whole point of the book was to get us out of debt, but, no, you had to…
BTW, this has inspired me to do a new comic series I hope to premiere soon.

  1. One word Frank: Jewelry. I don’t care if she says she doesn’t like it, women LOVE shiny things almost as much as we do once they’re looking at themselves in it. It increases the debt load, but it keeps you alive long enough to pay for it with Volume II of the book.

  2. There’s worse bundles.
    You’ll want the starter kit – unless you’ve got SD cards laying around, or don’t want to overwrite the pictures in your camera.
    Tony Hawk’s actually an OK series, and this version is likely to have its moments;
    Marvel UA is a decent game, though not much of a showcase for doomed gimmick controller;
    Call of Duty 3 is a pretty blah FPS, but it does use the controller well from what I hear (and have seen from the 360 version);
    they say sports games are what the thing’s designed for, so you can do worse than Madden (but not too much);
    and if you buy a Nintendo machines without friggin’ Zelda, then you’re definitely better off spending your money somewhere else.
    So sarahk, please don’t kill Frank for that bundle. Do feel free to kill him when you find out how fun Guitar Hero is, though. :-p
    Oh, and if you really don’t want any of those games: EBGames usually has promotions where you give two recent products back, and you can get a new game for like $10. (Wasteful, but hey, beats a funeral.)

  3. Marie,
    There are different interpretations of that.
    Poli,
    There are worse bundles as all those games got decent ratings… they’re just not my first pick of the release titles (other than Zelda, of course).
    Guitar Hero does seem really cool, but I’m not going to buy a system just for it.
