An American Tradition

SNL on the first Presidential Debate:

I can’t believe they went after Rezko on Obama, and the most biting part about McCain sounds like it was written by a Republican.

UPDATE:

This is really funny too:

I thought the Palin interview bit was funny as well, but I never watched the Couric interview so you can tell if its was too unfair or not.

  1. FrankJ:

What did you think about the skit that started off the show, with Tina Fey as Sarah Palin?

Who still watches Saturday Night Live? I assume Frank found this on the internet. That’s the only reason I saw it.

  2. I didn’t think the Palin one was as funny as the one last week (?) — the first one anyway.

As I’ve said before, I agree with MFLib, that they are doing Palin and the voters a huge disservice in keeping her isolated from reporters. I was very hesitant with the choice initially, then kind of fell in love with the whole idea of it, and now am begining to wonder if my first thought was correct. I guess we will see when the debate comes around. I do hope she does well, but will not be surprised if she doesn’t do well against that lying, shameless snake Biden.

  3. The whole thing was hilarious. I loved how Palin was annihilated by Tina Fey and all she had to do was just use Palin’s exact verbage. No way any Americans are going to want a stupid dingbat a heartbeat away. Excellent. No wonder Obama is climbing in the polls.

  4. If McCain had picked Romney he’d be ahead in the polls. Only some of the religious conservatives seem to think Palin was a good pick so she helps there but she seems to have hurt getting independents this election.

  5. If McCain had picked Romney he’d be ahead in the polls.

Question – if you guys think Palin’s such a bad pick, why are you still trying to get us to replace her?

That’s the neat thing, whenever I have my doubts I can always count on you guys to come here and remind me you’re still scared of the woman.

  6. MFL,

The only reason you folks want Sarah to spend more time with reporters is so you can have more material to mis-quote and take out of context. It must be a terrible shock to you that our candidate isn’t following your orders like a good little submissive wimp.

It is really quite revealing: When a real strong woman comes along, you can’t stand her. You only favor cuckolded weak women like Jackie O and Hillary. Be very afraid MFL…

By just existing and being herself, Sarah terrifies you and shows you and your phony feminists what hypocrites you really are. Ha Ha Ha! It is fun to watch you guys melt like the witch in OZ! We should get some popcorn for the show.

  7. “You only favor cuckolded weak women like Jackie O and Hillary”

    Oh come on. *Hillary*?

Calling her a ‘strong woman’ *because* she won’t spend more time with reporters?

My only reassurance is that there are more dems making dumber comments all over the internet right now.

  8. SNL, traditionally, has made both sides laugh by taking everything said about a politician by their opponents as if it were true and running with it. Even Tina Fey’s mockery of Sarah Palin, is, in a sense, funny because it shows what simple-minded critics the left produces.

I get two points from this skit –
The “McCain is trying to distract us from the election by…” argument is laughable.
Obama’s Chicago machine politics ties are not, as doubly demonstrated by their police state tactics in MO this week.

The fact that even pro-Obama SNL recognizes the Chicago machine politics corruption should indicate the Left can’t even hide behind their friends on that one.

On the coming VP debate – does anyone think Slow Joe the Ego is REALLY going to outmaneuver someone the left constantly underestimates?
