Considering what I’ve come to expect from Whedon, the Dollhouse pilot was kinda dull and lifeless. The second episode, though, was a million times better; it should have been the pilot. Anyway, if you missed it (and we should support Whedon and the crappy timeslot they gave him), it should be up on Hulu by tomorrow.
Downloading now from EZTV.it (torrent)
The 720p version should be up in an hour or two.
I heard that line!! I loved it 😀
Lie To Me is pretty good too. They show a lot of examples of liars and attempts at hidden emotions by using pictures of liberals such as Bill Clinton and Obama.
I just joined your group on Facebook, by the way 😀
A definite improvement from the pilot, and I’m getting intrigued now. BtVS didn’t really hit its stride till the 2nd season. I hope Fox gives Whedon a little time.
So
FaithMs. Dolly remembers a tiny little bit of each imprinting and it’s events … and sooner or later they’ll all mean something? It’s always nice to see Eliza D … never realized how tiny she really is before though. BTVS had a whole cast of small folks.
“I Have Four Brothers — None of Them Democrats” – Great line! I wasn’t going to watch tonight…the pilot was just too bland. Then I read this post and tuned in…not disappointing at all!
It was a little better, but still the overall creepiness of the whole thing is a big drawback. i mean, i know it is supposed to be creepy, but that doesn’t change the fact that it is, and that makes it less than ideal entertainment for me.
And the “democrats” line was a great one.
I taped it last night. Glad to hear I won’t be disappointed when I get around to watching it. I’ve been a fan of Joss Whedon ever since he cast PeeWee Hermann as a vampire. PeeWee saved that movie.
Drew458: They prefer the term “little people.” Yes, I enjoyed BtVS, Angel, and Firefly, but Whedon earned this tremendous reputation as a radical thinker and feminist entirely while hiring and retaining the hottest female flesh in Babylon on the Pacific.
I don’t begrudge him that, I just like to throw it in the face of feminists who think Whedon made them cool: sorry, Ripley and Sarah Conner beat you there by eons.
Watched it. Not bad, but the scientist guy is a horrid actor. He needs to be killed off by Alpha and replaced with someone that is remotely believable in the role. Someone like Lucy Liu or Kate Beckinsale would be great as the head scientist.
