The Iranian Revolution Will Be Tweeted

If you’re wanting to follow what’s happening in Iran, the best way right now is Twitter.

Yeah, I know. A lot of you are saying, “But I think it’s name sounds gay and I’m not secure enough in my masculinity to use it.” Well, let me tell you that I’ve checked, and absolutely no gay people use Twitter. In fact, a way to figure out if someone is gay is to ask him, “Are you Twitter?” If he says no, then there is a about a 50% chance he’s a flaming homosexual.

Anyhoo, if you want to get live updates of what’s going on, you can follow the #IranElection hashtag and should pretty soon find out who the big players are.

  1. Twitter is just not a manly word! I’m sorry but I would never twitter about anything in real life and therefore shall never “twitter” on the web! Twitter is for high school girls and teh gays!

  2. Yeah because the word “revolution” instantly makes me think of “twitter.”

Speaking of which, how much longer ’til we with guns get to storm the Capitol and put an end to the socialist wet dream unfolding before our very eyes?

  3. I’m getting the distinct feeling that NunyaB is a warrioress. In answer to your question, however, dontcha think their dream will go flaccid before it becomes a complete reality and can’t be undone?

  4. Jimmy,

I’m fairly certain that was the opinion of the Silent Majority in pretty much every country that went from prospering Democracy to Banana Republic said in the beginning days as well. We talk a big game, but we’d rather snuggle the blanket back up over us and return to our sleep thinking it’s all a dream. But unless we really, truly take Jefferson’s words about the Tree of Liberty to heart, we are going to wake to find that what we thought was a nightmare was not anything near to how terrible reality has become.

  5. Let’s review: Angry Iranians that hate the US are protesting an angry puppet leader who hates the US in favor of another puppet leader that hates the US. And now, the Iranian government is having armed soldiers that hate the US shoot the unarmed angry Iranians that hate the US.

Is there some reason I’m supposed to care about any of that?

  6. During the ‘First’ American Civil War, the North had the advantage in both man-power and industrial capacity.
    Today? Not so much.
But our conflict isn’t so much regional as it is idealogical and neither side is wearing a recognizable uniform. Yet.
    Nathan Hale was hanged.
    John Brown was hanged.
William Wallace (Braveheart) was hanged, drawn, quartered and beheaded.
History glorified rebels who die for their causes, but the ones who are still standing when the dust settles get to write the history books.

Iran? We don’t still have an Embassy there, do we?
