Turning the Country into an iPad

The iPad seems pretty cool. It’s sleek and responsive and intuitive to use. Part of this comes from there not being as much freedom one can do with this device as there is with a PC. The user is kept away from it’s low level function and Apple controls every single app allowed to go in it. Without that, it would quickly get as clunky as anything Microsoft releases.

In a way, the iPad is the model for what liberals hope America will be like if they can just get more and more of it under complete government control. We’ll have this sleek, responsive government that provides us with health care and all other necessities in an efficient, intuitive way. All we need to do is give up a few freedoms that most users citizens weren’t even using. Just think of businesses like apps, and every business has to be approved by the government to make sure it fits with their plan for the country. And making your own decisions about health care is like letting Flash run on the iPad — not allowed because it could mess things up.

Of course, we’re not talking about a $500 consumer electronic device, and people are a lot harder to keep organized as they are more unpredictable that apps for watching movies and playing poker, so the whole idea is doomed to fail in a spectacular fashion (see the Soviet Union). Still, it’s useful to understand what liberals are trying to do. Just hope the next thing Steve Jobs releases to great fanfare isn’t the iConstitution.

  1. I did a little (very little) research and discovered to my amazement the I-Pad is some kind of electronic computerlike thingie, not a feminine hygene product! That’s a relief given the title of this thread. I was wondering “why the hell does Frank want to turn the country into a giant tampon?” Obama already did that!

So the I-Pad is like that Twitter, Facebook and Texting stuff I avoid like the plague? Damn computer geeks!

  2. Nice observation!
Do you think that this is how liberals want their lives to be, and if so, why do they push their ideals onto all of us!
Why do they feel that their idea of how everything “should be” by their standards, be pushed upon ALL of us?
The elitism, and self-importance that most liberals hold can ONLY come from a people that are lacking God in their lives.
Completely devoid of any spirituality whatsoever.
They make government their god. Everything tied up nice and neat in a tight little box, and we must all obey and conform to THEIR IDEALS!

I refuse to let a GODLESS group DICTATE how my life should be run.
Without god in ANY of their decisions can only lead to a darkness, and colorless way of life!!!!

When will America stand up for God!

I’m no bible thumper, I smoke, drink beer, and i swear like a sailor. I’m just a woman that KNOWS the God has to be implemented in every part of our lives, otherwise it is just a deviation from what is GOOD AND JUST!

  3. Two questions:

    1) How long before we are subjected to the iPad 2, making all current iPads and iPad apps obsolete?

    2) Since I go to Starbucks for coffee and not to impress the jobless college kids using up all the chairs in there by showing off electronic devices, why would I possibly want an iPad?

  4. So sorry about this comment but caution sexist opinion:

Did they not have any women on board this project. No one who thought the term I Pad might occasion the odd lewd, offensive, insensitive and crude remark? Really, no one saw a problem with the name? Seriously any woman who didn’t have the guts to say, “guys I think we need a different name” should turn in her woman card.

I Pad really? Was I Tampon taken? Ooops I think that crossed the line………yep it did. Sorry guys.

  5. So, if I’m the type of guy who likes to take apart iProducts, flash the memory and install linux on them, how does this analogy apply to me? Does that make me some kind of anarchist, or just a bitter clinger?
