The Non-Job Offer

So the White House’s official story on whether they bribed Sestak with a job to get him to drop of the Senate race was that they sent Bill Clinton to offer Sestak an unpaid advisory position that he’d have to drop out of Congress for. That’s the story they spent so long making up? So I guess while they’re not admitting to anything illegal, they are admitting to being extremely moronic.

Still, we can’t dismiss the story completely. To think someone would jump at the chance to work with you in an unpaid advisory position takes a huge amount of arrogance, and that does fit Obama. Still, I’m guessing bribing people with jobs was pretty common practice in Chicago and Obama was just caught unaware it was actually illegal; naive and ignorant sounds like him too.

So what should we do with Obama? I’m happy if as punishment he has to write an essay on why bribing is wrong. That way, we’d at least know he’s learned something. So far, it seems like Obama isn’t anymore experienced now than when he was first picked to be president after his two week internship in the Senate. After his presidency, I at least want to say, “Yeah, he may have destroyed the country, but he really learned some important lessons doing it.”

    “Get used to disappointment.”

Yep – it’s going to be a whole day of The Princess Bride quotes.

  2. To paraphrase:

let me ess’plain…wait, there is no time. Let me sum-up: President Obama is planning to kill America in little less ‘an halfanhour

    –and–
You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never to get involved in a land war in Asia. And only slightly less well known is this: never go in against a megalomaniac with Memorial Day Weekend plans to Chicago, and complete avoidance of historically presidential duties is on the line!”

  3. I don’t care. Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and the evil ones in the unions will probably elect this guy anyway. I love my state, but it gets depressing sometimes.

By the way, I know Harvey told us to click on the liberal ads on this site because it gives you money and costs them money, but this book about Glenn Beck by “journalist ALEXANDER ZAITCHIK” is a bridge too far. “Superb.” – Glenn Greenwald. “Fascinating.” – Andrew Sullivan.

  4. Obama has learned his lesson. He learned well as a community organizer under the Daileys.

It’s the Chicago way. Frank better watch out for some purple shirted goons to appear at his front door to do some ‘spalin to him.

    Chicago…vote early, vote often.

  5. Jimmy says:
Is there something wrong with me?

If there wasn’t would you be here? And if you were here and nothing was wrong with you then there would be something wrong with you.

    Am I wrong?

  6. So, the story about the unpaid advisor job offer – does it sound too stupid to be made up or did they intentionally make it sound like complete idiocy so that no one would suspect that it was made up, or did they really figure we’re not paying attention, or is Barry doing “blow” again?

  7. Aren’t these the morons trying to outlaw unpaid interns (to make it even harder for young people like they haven’t f’ed things enough for them already) because the evil corporations are using them as some sort of slaves…or something? If that really was their bribe I hope they’re not surprised he said no.
