Capitalist Propaganda: “Milton Friedman Puts A Young Michael Moore In His Place”

From circa 1977, economist Milton Friedman eats a snot-nosed young liberal for breakfast in “Milton Friedman Puts A Young Michael Moore In His Place” [via Fox Nation]:

Now… is that REALLY Michael Moore, or is the guy who uploaded the video just using “Michael Moore” as a generic epithet meaning ANY snot-nosed young liberal?

I don’t know, Google is decidedly unhelpful, and it really doesn’t matter. The important thing is that you get to watch a scrumptiously epic intellectual beat-down.

UPDATE: I Own the World makes a convincing case that it’s not actually Michael Moore.

  1. I don’t think Michael Moore was ever that skinny. Friedman has the right philosophy that our current leaders seem not to comprehend, we are responsible for our choices and how they affect our lives, not the government.

  2. Wow! I just had a revalation! If I take a hippy and punch him in the face my heart is filled with joy, but if I watch that same hippy become frightened, confused and eventually crushed by a superior intellectual position, my heart is filled with the same joy.

    Thanks IMAO!

  3. …“Michael Moore” as a generic epithet meaning ANY snot-nosed young liberal? …

I AM Michealmoore-ing SICK AND TIRED OF THESE
    Michealmoore-ing SNAKES ON THIS Michealmoore-ing PLANE !

    Yeah, that works, I guess.

    Yippie Ki Yay Michaelmoore.

  4. Poor little fella, whomever he is. He came into that room prepared to show everyone how intellectually superior he was, and it turned out he was just another liberal jackass who couldn’t even win the debate when he was half right. Damn shame. I’m guessing he works at Denny’s or Waffle House these days.

  5. Came to say what Crazyjet said.

He’s giving the Obama plausibly-accidental-yet-obviously-not birdy.

I’m amazed at how clear Milton is and yet how dense the louder audience members were. These guys seem about as dumb as lefties today are.

This one hippy obviously didn’t really understand his own argument. Talking points in its infancy.

  6. As it turns out, the kid wasn’t actually the famous Michael Moore,
but he was swallowed whole by him during filming of Moore’s first documentary,
    “To Serve Man”.

Milton Friedman had a great influence on me through his “Free to Choose” book and PBS series. It’s a strange world where he and Paul Krugman BOTH be Nobel Prize winning economists. Wish I could hear him debate ‘Kurgman’ once, it’d sound something like this I bet.

  7. What struck me is “I am a supporter of abortion, I don’t believe every life is sacred” and then he goes on about the lives lost because of Ford?…Yep liberal/Progressive professor fed BS.. And NO WAY was that Michael Moore. It may have been his brother though, cause Micheal obviously was getting all the food at home.

  8. Could you imagine if Mr. Friedman here gave a lecture at a US university today? While many of the liberals in that audience used the same obviously wrong arguments as they use today, at least the audience applauded at the end. I hate to think what it might be like today.

  9. I agree with Robert. This hippie acknowledges that he believes that abortion = killing people, and that he is OK with that, but then he has a problem with ford choosing to save money by not installing a safety feature in their cars that could mean the difference between life and death in some cases. It seems the principle here is not that human life is sacred and therefore should be protected at all (or even reasonable) cost, but rather that nobody should be making money.
