Gloating Preparations

We could still end up disappointed in November, but it’s reached the point we should all make some gloating preparations or otherwise we could end up with a huge conservative wave and not be able to sufficiently gloat. Here’s what I’m getting together:

* Giant inflatable purple gorilla

* Bullhorn

* American flag

* Stick to poke liberals with

* Disco ball

* Loud country music

* Dancing shoes

* Accounts on various left-wing sites so I can inquire with them on their opinion of the apples that they have now received

* Elephant rental to ride around town on

* Effigy of Nancy Pelosi to fire out of cannon

* Cannon

So what preparations are you making for your November gloating?

Don’t Try and Use Kos’s Book to Bring Down Goldberg’s

So even liberals are panning Kos’s book American Taliban. From its title, it’s kinda obvious it’s just aimed at dumb liberals who like to scream and shake their fists, i.e., the Daily Kos audience.

What I find interesting is how many of the liberals compare Kos’s book to Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism (which Kos even made a sort of comparison with by his odd choice of a smiley face Taliban cover). You would think this is a way of denigrating Kos’s book by comparing it to a hated conservative book, but my guess is the goal is more to try and belittle Goldberg’s book by falsely saying it’s like Kos’s.

Apparently, Liberal Fascism really stung liberals since they’re still whining about it, but it wasn’t some idiotic diatribe like American Taliban saying all liberals are evil or something. Liberals want to believe it was that so they can easily dismiss it (What? Liberals misrepresenting something so they can be dismissive of it? When has that ever happened?), but it makes a simple point that most Americans find pretty obvious: A lot of liberals’ nanny state principles lay in some bad fascistic impulses. People don’t pass laws on their equals forcing them to buy health insurance or not letting them have trans fats; these are laws for lesser people liberals feel they need to rule for their own good. This doesn’t mean anyone is getting rounded up into camps, but it’s a bad instinct to start from that leads to bad policy.

Again, this smiley face fascism is as obvious to most Americans as that the media is severely left-titled, and similarly the left like to act like the charge is crazy when all that does is make them look dense. They can pretend that Goldberg’s book is an infantile scream like Kos’s, but all they end up doing is uselessly whining next to that goober.

Oh, I just noticed that Goldberg responded to most of this already, probably making my post redundant. Whatever; I’m sure I’m still smarter.

Frank Responds to Spam Comments

I’ve noticed the spam has been getting smarter as not all of it is broken English. In fact, my post on Stephen Hawking yesterday caused a great amount of spam commenting on just that issue, a lot of which actually was indistinguishable from actual comments (spam does not like Stephen Hawkins) except for the links included with them. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if some spam got through on that one. Also, one porn site kept posting Ground Zero mosque opinions to different posts ranging from “We have to respect their First Amendment rights” to “Let’s wait for them to build it and blow it up with them inside”, I guess hoping I’d cotton to one of those opinions (for the record, I’m not for blowing up mosques — unless they’re in a foreign country we’re bombing).

Anyway, here is the bounty of spam comments the Great Landlord has once again blessed us with:

I can see that you are an expert at your field! I am launching a website soon, and your information will be very useful for me.. Thanks for all your help and wishing you all the success.

Thank you. I work hard to be the smartest guy in the corn field. Seriously, though, I’d love to see a site launched that was based on nothing but the information one learned from IMAO.

This is a good blog. Keep up all the work. I too love to blog. This is great everyone sharing opinions 😀

Yeah, I like that we now have these blogs to share opinions with instead of the previous way of shouting at people on the street. Now I rarely get carted away by the police — even when I use all caps!

I 100 % am loving this internet site!!! totally gonna must placed this on my bookmarks.

You still keep track of blogs through bookmarks? Are you a caveman?

Well it’s great to see that you’re using proper grammar.

Now you’re just mocking me.

Great Harry Potter page. I am a big fan! Do you have a mailing list I could join?

A mailing list? Seriously, is this spam from like ten years ago? How about every time I make a new post, I call you up with my rotary phone.

Contrary to what other people are saying I think your blog could genuinely use some work. I cannot even work out how you can subscribe to your RSS.

Finally, some critical spam. Too much spam is of the form “What an awesome blog! I’m bookmarking it now!” It’s nice to have some spam here and there to tell me like it is.

Uhh are you making this up? This post is some f-ed up sh*t kid. Ive met braindead chimpanzees who were smarter than you.

Okay, now that’s a little too far.

Do you might have any references for what you wrote here?

I mainly just copy whatever Ace of Spades or Allahpundit says; I assume they read something somewhere. Go ask them.

I cant believe there are so many spam comments here like “great post!”, etc. This blog sucks.

Now that’s meta.
