  1. Where’s the being mean to liberals part? It’s a statement of fact.
    Moonbat:

According to a 2006 article by New York Times self-described “language maven” William Safire, the term was first used by science fiction author Robert A. Heinlein in 1947. Heinlein used the term in a 1947 short story, “Space JockeyJunky,” as the name of a rocket spacecraft used for the third step of a journey from the Earth to the moon. Descriptions of bat-like people on the moon were part of the 1835 Great Moon1990-2012 global warming Hoax.

  2. The McDonnell XP-67 “Bat” or “Moonbat” was a prototype for a twin-engine, long range, single-seat interceptor aircraft for the United States Army Air Forces. Although the design was conceptually advanced, it was beset by numerous problems and never approached its anticipated level of performance. The project was cancelled after the sole completed prototype was destroyed by an engine fire.

    That one fits too.
