You know what proposition, what obvious campaign talking point, I haven’t heard anyone — from any stripe or shade of the political spectrum — assert with respect to Joe Biden in many, many months? It’s this one:
“Well, you know, no matter what else may be said, at least Joe Biden would probably make a pretty good President if called upon.”
It hasn’t even occurred to anyone to make that argument.
Biden, after all, is the smartest man currently occupying the office of Vice President, in addition to being the actual author of the works of Stephen Hawking. #TheBrainsBehindTheWheelchair
The obvious reason this point has never been brought up, at least it is obvious to me, is that the most reasonable response to anyone that was stupid enough to say Biden would be a good president would be “Now you must eat the vegetarian MRE.”.
And yes, vegetarian MREs do exist, I got to see them with my own eyes back in the late nineties when my puny Army Reserve unit was participating in humanitarian operations in Guatemala. They are a little more tastier than the “dehydrated pork pattie” MRE from back in the eighties (which was actually better suited as an offensive weapon or a booby trap than food), but not by much.
