So Republicans asked Obama to cut spending, and Obama has come back with a budget where he has cut negative dollars from the budget. And now he wants his tax increase since he did his negative dollar cuts.
At what point do the Republicans need to go, “This is pointless. We’re just going to ignore Obama from now and wait until we get another president to try to engage in a serious discussion of the budget.”? Or perhaps they can put it more nicely. Next time Obama hands them a budget, they can just say to him, “Here’s a ball. Perhaps you’d like to go in the corner and bounce it.”
I don’t know how much we can get done ignoring the president, but what are the other options?
I think Republicans HAVE for the most part been ignoring Obama. I think the problem is, ignoring isn’t enough. While we ignore him, he vilifies us. And while we ignore the fact that he has made us the scapegoat on everything that’s not working.
What we need to do is effectively vilify him and the left like he has done to us, not ignore him.
The bigger question is really how much can we get undone by ignoring him.
It isn’t just him. It’s millions upon millions of people just like him. How do we ignore them?
Actually, Republicans need to stop “compromising” with Obama and his minions…unless the compromises include us getting something out of the deal instead of “compromises” that give democrats most of what they want instead of all of it.
I can defy his defiance, I can avoid his avoidance, I can depend upon his dependence, but I can’t ignore his ignorance.
