According to GAO, to the tune of $30 billion, the federal government funds more than 44 job training programs, administered by nine different federal agencies across the federal bureaucracy.
There are at least 17 offender reentry programs across five different federal agencies, costing taxpayers over $250 million annually.
I would like to see the gub-mint take the delinquents and work them so they could pay back their victims and society. A good law would be to have a special “minimum wage” for convicted juvenile delinquents. Say $0.75/hr. They could work at car washes, farms, soup kitchens etc. and their wages would go towards their debt to the victims, court costs and their room and board. Working in the hot sun for a couple years to pay for a petty crime would work wonders “rehabilitating” them. When I was a kid I behaved myself and never got in to trouble but I still worked in the hot sun for $0.75/hr.
Maybe they could focus on getting adults some jobs that pay more than minimum wage so that they can pay taxes to pay for this program helping delinquents. You know those adults who’ve fallen off the unemployment rolls because their benefits are no longer being paid. Those who’ve been laid off thanks to barry’s stellar handling of the economy, yeah those folks. The ones who’ve been paying taxes for 20+ years, raising children, obeying the laws, serving in the military. Those folks. Thanks federal government for your concern.
