Capitalist Propaganda: Gasoline For Everybody

“‘Production, refining and distribution of gasoline.’ Explains 4 types of gasoline, straight run and 3 ‘cracked’ varieties.”

And I’ll just point out that the unfathomable amount of infrastructure this nation already dedicates to pumping oil and refining gasoline is just another reason why practical electric cars are just an idiot’s pipe dream.

  1. It’s not really that hard to figure out that for every watt of electricity that a Volt or Tesla uses, 3 must be generated. Add to that the fact that environmentalists and other NIMBYs will not allow significant improvements to the power grid in this country, make a shift to electric cars almost as likely as unicorn powered chariots.

  2. @1 DonP

The way I see it, one can only assume that those who would put their concerns for a newt ahead of their concerns for humans must somehow believe that the electricity for cars is generated by unicorn farts or some other government sponsored SCIENCE!

  3. If you don’t happen to have a wall handy to bang your head against, try explaining to a member of the Church of GLOBAL WARMING™ that in order to have all electric cars, we’d need to triple the amount of electricity generated but because of them, the one and only way to do that that doesn’t generate the same, if not more pollution than the evil gas burning cars they just got rid of is with many many new nuclear power plants.
When they say, “oh no, all you need are windmills”!!!11!! Tell them: It would take 2077 of them, 500 feet tall, taking up 50 acres per megawatt to equal the output of one 1154 megawatt nuke. Therefore, that’s 57,700 acres of windmills. ( about 90 sq miles) The size of Amarillo city, TX on top of the staggering amount of resources it would take to build them. It’s best to give up at this point if they continue to argue.

    Good luck
