  1. It’s likely that components would fail close to the same time in devices of the same age. What I’ve never understood with wind farms is why so few of the windmills are actually turning.There are huge wind farms west of Sacramento, and it’s the same there, with a large percentage of them standing idle.

    • I’ve read that the turbines have braking systems that shut them down when the wind speed is too high, to prevent failures like these. Perhaps the brakes in the two were similarly faulty, and obviously were exposed to a similar wind load at the same time. According to the video description, it was “Due to high voltage and technical fault so it is fired and running high speed,” whatever that means. Coincidentally, I think that was one of Hillary’s excuses about what happened to her email server.
