Your mission: answer the question in the comments with a good story.
If you don’t have a good story, you are encouraged to make one up.
You have to sing karaoke, what song do you pick?
Either that, or “Mary Had a Little Lamb”, depending on how my throat’s feeling
I would sing….’I Don’t Need This Summer Heat To Feel Like I’m On Fire For You Baby’!
This (what else would you expect from somebody who lives in Iowa?):
“Frère Jaques” or “Amazing Grace.” Can’t be “Feelings;” I’ve seen too many people singing it get gonged—it seemed like one episode was packed with people trying to sing it. Yes, I mean the old ’70s one.
[Like a] Rolling Stone – Bob Dylan. with a close second to Mack the Knife by Bobby Dairn and rounding into the show position American Pie by Don Mclean.
I like Karaoke.
Ever heard Ella’s live recording of Mack the Knife? She forgets the lyrics but vamps her way through like a boss. Hilarious.
We cats aren’t renowned for our singing ability. However, I do a dead-on imitation of Yoko Ono.
A dead Yoko Ono does sound delightful.
Careful with that axe Eugene by Pink Floyd.
Unless I’m drunk, then You Oughtta Know by Alanis Morrisette. That’s a much funnier song when a guy with a terrible voice sings it without changing the lyrics.
Unless I’m really drunk, then Born To Be Wild by Steppenwolf.
Don’t Pull Your Love Out On Me Baby
By: Hamilton, Joe, Frank, Ann, Reynolds
The famous quintet. I’m told if they had nine members they’d be a nuftete.
Green Acres or The Flinstones.
EVERYONE would join in!
In the 90s, The Fish Market in Old Town Alexandria used to have pianos in a couple of the 5 or 6 rooms where they played old tv show songs and ad jingles.
You’re right, my clearest memory of it is 40 or 50 people belting out The Flintstones while drinking Schaeffer outta giant ‘schooners’.
We were surely in Schaeffer City!
Yrah, hipsterish but before there were hipsters.
“I’m So Miserable Without You, It’s Just Like Having You Around”, a most soulful country song…
