    • The details of the program make it sound a bit less crazy, however. These are felons who have completed their time, entered a rehabilitation program with daily check-ins, obtained a job and gotten a driver’s license. Perhaps those are the sort of folks who might stay on the straight and narrow path with a leg up.

      Also not tax money. Well, if it’s crazy and it works….

  1. When exactly do they get paid? At what point of time in their “Not commit a crime” phase will it be prudent to pay them? If they commit a crime after getting paid do they have to give it back? Questions, questions, questions.

  2. At the 2016 population numbers, that’s almost a 4 billion dollar give away a year for the citizens of Stockton if they commit no violent crimes. I guess Sacramento needs to get to printing.

  3. Weird to see that happen without someone first saying “nice city ya gots here… be a shame if sumthin’ happened to it…”

    Isn’t that simply because nobody can keep a straight face calling Stockton a “nice city”?
