I would recommend you take a look at the alternate side of the DDT scare. From a human exposure perspective, there probably isn’t a safer pesticide in terms of low human toxicity. Many of the horror stories from DDT use (egg shell thinning, cancer) have been debunked by real science not involving Rachel Carson.
