Did you know that OSHA has no regulations specific to the safe maintenance and repair of Hydraulic or Pneumatic equipment?
Violations can only be cited under the general duties clause. Sure there’s electrical lockout tagout. There’s machine guarding & rigging. Nothing about how to safely deenergize an accumulator, or a positive displacement pump. Nothing about PPE for hydraulic fluids. It’s like the wild west out there.
It’s amazing to think that an English spy recovered these blueprints which lead to the sinking of the Bismarck! Dumb Nazi’s.
