Friday Night Open Thread: Too Much Time on My Hands

One has to wonder — Is more trouble caused by busy-bodies, or by those who are not busy enough and thus have time to devote to super-trivial things?

Or can’t you concentrate because a Styx song began running through your head?

  1. I’ve been wondering if King Arthur was really real and not a myth. It would have been so cool to have been there and watch him pull that sword out of the rock and a bunch of other freaky weird stuff starts happening.

    • I’ve been wondering about the man who put the sword IN the stone. And why? Probably left the bar after many pints, but also frustratingly alone. Or possibly some sort of road rage incident? Stuck behind a slow cart.

      • In most versions of the Arthurian legend, Merlin is responsible for placing the sword in the stone. This act serves as a test to determine who is worthy of the kingship. Some versions also suggest the Lady of the Lake or God himself may have been involved but I’m going with Merlin . It was just a trick but a good one.

  2. Anyone else have a browser that will autocomplete your entry for IMAO’s “Name *” and “Email *” text boxes, but gives no suggestions for the “Website” text box?
It’s been like that for me for years. I’ve been mildly curious about why… which is not curious enough to look up possible answers, or even ask about it until just now.

  3. I’ve been wondering who invented the little hand flossers was it some independent person or someone working in a lab for a company?
Because I never hear in the news like…”man invents hand held flossers…and blah bah blah.” The person was a genius whoever it was.
