People in Europe — and North America — now sleep in warm and dry beds with their families around them, free from (more extreme) persecution, thanks to the brave men who were fighting day and night against overwhelming odds in the frigid winter at Bastogne in 1944.

Except everyone that once knew that is now dead and the living don’t care.
