  1. Congress has never ended any federal program. Ever. It just allows the executive branch to roll them into other programs, rename them, and then increase the funding for the program as though it’s an entirely new program.

  2. dam straight. make them comfortable being parasites and you’ll get more parasites. There IS shame in being needy, and on the occasion one’s bad decisions or even just bad luck makes one needy, it should be a given that trying to become UN-needy is the top priority!

  3. You cannot call Government programs Charity for one simple reason.
The Definition of Charity is money freely given.
Government moneys are taken at the point of a Gun from its Citizenry, and under threat of coercion.
The IRS and their tactics would have to be completely revamped, so thst the monies are all donated without coercion to be charity.

  4. When I turned 65 I had no choice but to go on Medicare, including the Bush prescription drug deal. My self funded insurance became my secondary.

The folks at my pharmacy always laugh when I turn around and holler “thank you, taxpayers!”

I may be the only guy in the country who thanks the taxpayers.
