Very interesting. And he was as right for that role as Brando was for The Godfather.
When Willy Wonka comes tottering out of his factory like an old man and then does a somersault, it set the tone for the movie.
And it’s such a polite letter that still gets its point of disagreement across briefly, without beating around the bush. He alternates the things he likes with the things he dislikes. And he gives his reasoning clearly.
Also, apparently Gene Wilder could sketch.
